south texas birding workshop
november 2-4 - Mcallen, texas
Join renowned bird photographer Supreet Sahoo and Jason Weingart along the Rio Grande Valley, visiting one of the most popular ranches in the United States. During this season, the ranch is very busy. We will have the entire ranch to ourselves to photograph specialties like Audubon's Oriole, Olive Sparrow, Long-billed Thrasher, Golden-fronted Woodpecker, Green Jay, and many others.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
Workshop fees include personalized instruction, ranch daily access fees, lunches, unlimited drinking water, and use of the blinds and feed.
TENTATIVE WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
November 2, 2018
- Arrival at leisure to McAllen, Texas and check into hotel in Edinburgh
- 06:00pm short meet and greet at the lobby for introductions
- Meals not included
November 3-4, 2018
- 06:00am Meet at the hotel lobby to leave for the ranch, which is about 30 minutes away from our hotel
- Retrieve packed sandwiches for breakfast
- Spend our 1st session at a blind where we shoot:
Green Jays, Cardinals, Pyrrhuloxias, Warblers and many other song birds
- 08:00am We take a break and meet again at 09:00am at our raptor blind to shoot caracaras and vultures
After lunch ( time to be determined) we will meet at another blind for woodpeckers and quails.
Day 3 is a repeat of day 2 with some rotations to ensure everyone is happy with their images.
We will also host a photo editing session during the afternoon/evening of day 2, time to be determined.
Lunch is included for days 2-3.
